The fully paid-up share capital of Al-Ittihad Al-Watani amounts to 20.64 billion LBP, divided into 51.6 million shares. Since its establishment in 1947, Al-Ittihad Al-Watani went through nine capital increases, the last of which was in 2000.

The positive results throughout the years have increased the shareholders' equity to 38.4 billion LBP at the end of 2006. The shareholders' equity represents 31% of the total assets.

Al-Ittihad Al-Watani's assets are strongly backed up by real estate, a building in Sanayeh worth $8.7 million. In addition, the company has a participating interest in the "Lebanese Canadian Hospital" worth $13 million, and holds a portfolio of shares amounting to $4.5 million.

In 2006 premium income from Al-Ittihad Al-Watani's insurance and reinsurance underwriting business in Lebanon and the Middle East amounted to 77.8 billion LBP.

The company's underwriting policy, which is oriented and designed to secure the best spread of risk among the various classes of insurance, lead to a steady annual growth in gross premium income.

Al-Ittihad Al-Watani employed 120 people in 2006, 45% of whom worked in the Head Office. The commitment and loyalty of employees, as well as the continuous training they receive, directly contribute to the success of the company.
